A-Sonic Aviation group has entered into Aircraft Leasing Agreements for the leasing of two aircraft to Air Caucasus Limited (“Air Caucasus ”), a company incorporated in Georgia.

Strategic Investment in Air Caucasus

Ms Janet Tan, the majority shareholder and Chief Executive Officer of the A-Sonic Group has, invested 35% in the share capital in Air Caucasus, through her wholly-owned company, “EuroAsia Airlines Pte Ltd”.

Ms Janet Tan and Ms Irene Tay are non-executive directors of Air Caucasus. They will not be involved in the day-to-day operations of Air Caucasus.

Joint Venture Agreement to Establish A-Sonic Logistics (Georgia) Private Limited

A-Sonic Logistics (Georgia) Limited (“A-Sonic Logistics (Georgia) ”) has been established to engage in logistics business in Georgia.

A-Sonic Logistics (Georgia) is an extension of the A-Sonic Group’s operating network in thirty seven (37) cities, seventeen (17 countries spanning four (4) continents in Asia, Americas, Sub-continent India and Europe.

As part of our broader effort to provide a one stop solution for our Aerospace clients, A-Sonic HQ will be setting up a Aerospace Vertical Control Tower in Singapore this month. This will help us focus on the three key tiers of logistics needs i.e. Execution, Administrative & Coordination and Optimization by providing a centralized information, operations and procurement center.  This standardized business process will give us greater supply chain visibility, thereby helping us to service our customers more effectively.

To enhance the competency of the Control Tower, we kicked off a cross-training meeting between both our control tower team and Aviation team on the 19th Nov. Not only were the complete framework and SOP finalized, the team even managed to execute 2 AOGs during the session as well!  This is true testament to the team's speed and precision, key factors to this project's success.

On 19 Sept, being a member of the Executive Committee of HAFFA as well as the Vice-Chairman of the association, A-Sonic Logistics Hong Kong, represented by Cliff Sullivan, together with the Chairman and two executives from HAFFA, had a milestone meeting with the new Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive Mr. C. Y. Leung to express the logistics industry concern on various issues that hinder Hong Kong competitiveness as a regional and international cargo hub and to give proposed solutions to address those issues with a primary aim at industrial survival and sustainable development. The meeting was fruitful and constructive. The new CE heard attentively the industry's needs and committed to studying its proposals in depth with the relevant bureaus.

HAFFA Circular - Meeting with Chief Executive, Hong Kong SAR Government

A-Sonic Logistics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., Penang was awarded the “Million Dollar and Outstanding Contribution 2011 Award” by China Airlines on 16^th July 2012.  This award was presented to those agents with an annual sales contribution exceeding a million ringgit for year 2011.

A-Sonic Logistics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., Penang sales exceeded a million ringgit and was awarded the Top 10 supporting agents with outstanding sales. The award was presented to A-Sonic Logistics Penang by Mr Robert KC Chin, General Manager of China Airlines Penang.

A-Sonic Logistics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., Penang was awarded the “Most Improved MASkargo Appointed Agent” for whole of Malaysia in 2011.  MASkargo is the air cargo division of Malaysia Airlines.

The award was presented on 18^th May 2012 during the MASkargo Mega Tonners Award 2011 ceremony by En. Mohd Yunus Idris, acting Chief Executive Officer of MASkargo and received by General Manager, Ms. Catherine Koay on behalf of A-Sonic Logistics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.

The Mega Tonners Awards 2011 is organised annually by MASkargo in recognition of its customers' invaluable support and key contributors to the company's success.

Top-performing freight forwarding agents from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kuching as well as from Vietnam and South Korea attended the 16th edition of the awards night.
